Calacatta is an Italian precious marble, which is made in Tuscany, on the Apuan Alps. Its bottom is crystal clear and its veins are gray; it is a sober and elegant material that can adapt to any kind of setting and context, from classic to modern. The scenographic appearance of its unique veins makes it ideal for luxurious settings, for minimal objects and matched with other materials such as wood and metal. The Calacatta was also used in Renaissance times for interior furnishings and luxury objects.
